January 03, 2005 - 12:12 a.m. People get so afraid the future and what could happen. They worry about timing and about making mistakes. I do it too. But let me tell you a secret: we aren't alone. We can't possibly--even in our greatest efforts--screw up too badly. Regardless of what happens, we are learning each day about what it means to be alive; when we stop doing this, when we decide that we know everything, we are dead. Timing is not of crucial importance, because it won't happen unless it's Supposed To. Fear, though real, is silly. |
