January 30, 2005 - 5:09 p.m. We walk by faith, not by sight. So it snowed on Friday. Well, first it sleeted, and then the puffy white spots started drifting down. Needless to say, this is lousy travel weather, and consequently my plans to trek to Sherman were foiled. But there was something else, too. I'm not just afraid of the snow; I was suddenly and painfully aware that I was not to go. The snow was my excuse. I don't know how to explain it other than that. Funny how much it shook me up that I didn't understand and that I had to make a judgment call all by myself, without my parents to say, "Yeah, no."
