January 26, 2005 - 10:22 p.m. Spencer joked today that if somehow I could ever just have one emotion without the complexity of being torn in multiple directions, we wouldn't know what to do with me. I think he's right, but I just can't help that happy is always tempered with sad and that sad is always buoyed up by happy. I think all people feel this, but I'm one of the few who can express it, can usually even quantify how much and qualify why I should have my peculiar emotional shading.
